Oysterville

The Oyster Capital

State: Washington County: Pacific County Founded: 1854 Abandoned: Semi-ghost Peak Population: 500

Oysterville grew rich shipping oysters to Gold Rush San Francisco. When the native oysters were depleted and the railroad terminated elsewhere, the town slept. It is now a National Historic District with pristine white clapboard houses and a historic church.
