Gateway to Sego

State: Utah County: Grand County Founded: 1890s Abandoned: Semi-ghost Peak Population: 500

Thompson Springs was a railroad depot and the gateway to the coal town of Sego. It declined after I-70 bypassed it (slightly) and the trains stopped stopping. It is semi-abandoned, with a vintage motel and cafe ruins. It serves as the access point for the Sego Canyon pictographs.
