Kelton was a major water stop on the original route of the Transcontinental Railroad north of the Great Salt Lake. When the Lucin Cutoff was built across the lake in 1904, traffic vanished. The town died slowly, ending when the rails were pulled for scrap in WWII. A cemetery and foundations remain.
