Langtry is famous as the courtroom of Judge Roy Bean, 'The Law West of the Pecos.' Bean held court in his saloon, 'The Jersey Lilly,' named for actress Lillie Langtry. He once fined a corpse for carrying a concealed weapon. He staged the 1896 world championship boxing match by moving it to Mexico.
