Mogollon was one of the 'wildest mining towns in the West', producing 18 million ounces of silver (25% of New Mexico's total). Devastating fires hit in 1894, 1904, 1910, 1915, and 1942—but they kept rebuilding. The Little Fannie Mine was the major employer. A handful of residents remain.
