Elkhorn was a silver mining town known for its family-oriented community. A diphtheria epidemic in winter 1889-90 killed many children. Fraternity Hall (1893) is the architectural highlight—Greek Revival style with meeting rooms for Masons, Oddfellows, and Knights of Pythias. Now Montana's smallest state park.
