Frenier was a fishing village on Lake Pontchartrain destroyed by the 1915 hurricane—one of the deadliest in Louisiana history. Legend says Julia Brown, a local 'Voodoo Queen,' predicted her death would take everyone with her. She died days before the hurricane killed the entire village.
