Medicine Lodge was where the 1867 Medicine Lodge Treaty was signed with Comanche, Kiowa, and other Plains tribes. Carry Nation, the axe-wielding temperance crusader, lived here. The Peace Treaty Pageant reenacts the treaty every few years.
