Coronado and Leoti fought a bitter battle to become Wichita County seat. When Leoti won, Coronado's fate was sealed. The railroad favored the winner, and Coronado's population drained away. Today, only foundations mark the spot.

When Leoti won, businesses and residents followed the government. Coronado simply ceased to exist.
