Bayhorse is one of Idaho's best-preserved ghost towns, with about 30 structures still standing. The charcoal kilns, ore bins, and assay office remain. The remote location in the Salmon River Mountains preserved it.
Silver Mining
The Ramshorn Mine produced silver and lead. Ore was processed in stampmills and smelted on site.
Preservation
The BLM maintains Bayhorse as an interpretive site. Many original structures remain.
